I consider myself a fairly large football fan. Granted, my list of sports goes Basketball, Football, Baseball, Soccer, Cricket, and Hockey. However, with the seasons being aligned to my favor, I can enjoy both of them the same. Take note that my favorite two sports are the ones with cheerleaders. I can never like a sport that doesn’t objectify women, and make them feel honored to do so.
Listen, I’m from Texas, the place where football is king. Friday’s were for High School football, Saturday was for the Horns, and Sunday was for the Cowboys. If the Boys were on Monday, you better believe no one was coming to work Monday morning. Even when I moved to San Francisco, I didn’t mind having to be at the bar by the 10am start time. Sure, drinking at 10am is weird, but you know, I kind of like it. In High School you didn’t have much of a choice, because you had to play football. I played up till my Senior year, when it was time to figure out how the hell I was going to get a scholarship to college. Then, I focused on track and theatre (I know), and got myself into college. The things you witnessed playing high school football were, well, something I would never talk about in a blog. Football is something that is worshiped where I’m from. It’s a way of life. When the Mavs were in the NBA Finals last year, the Cowboys DMN blog was still receiving twice as many views as the Mavs DMN blog. That is why this story didn’t surprise me at all when I saw it, but it’s been receiving a lot of national attention. If you haven’t heard of Southlake Carroll, then I guess all I can ask is, “Where have you been?” What is Southlake Carroll? It’s a 5A school in Southlake, TX. La Diabla’s Alma Mater was their main rivalry when she was in school (Don’t ask at the contradictions in previous blogs). It’s also a school that has won 4 of the past 5 Texas State Championships and are 3 time national champions. These kids are worshiped like the roided up gods that they are. Why shouldn’t they be? Not only are they winners, but they’re rich, too. You have to be to live in this wealthy suburb of Fort Worth. This morning, as the story says, the parents got in line to pay $90 for the right to buy tickets to Friday’s games. Not even the freaking tickets, but the right to by season tickets. Oh, and they only have 4 home games. Keep in mind, most these parent’s children are not even in high school yet. Did I mention the tickets were around $165 per game and ticket? It cost more to go to their game than it does to go to a Cowboys game. I’m not sure I blame them, though, at least they’re paying for a winner.
Actually, I should be getting my season tickets next year. Sure, I don’t have a kid, I’m not married yet, and I would never live in Southlake, but you never know, things could happen. I’d at least be a hit with the cheerleaders, right? Don’t forget… 17 is legal in Texas. What?

Toph-
You’re nifty.
And I’m gifted athlete and pass rusher.
If we were to be put on the same football team, what do you think would happen?
